Editor's Notes: I recently did research on potential female sportbike test riders and Grace's name kept coming up. I haven't had the chance to test her soy drinks yet or go for a ride with her. There's just something about Grace. I can sense her energy just by reading her words.

Why do you ride?
Riding is where I find peace in my day. Once the helmet goes on, everything else seems to be quiet.

How did you get into motorcycling?
I use to be a huge snowboard fanatic; you would find me hitting the local slopes after work and every weekend. After I broke my left humerus for the second time in 2009, I had a 6-month recovery period of complete boredom. I came up with three goals I wanted to accomplish and riding was on the list.

I took my MSF course, selected by faith my 2009 CBR600RR Phoenix, and have been hooked ever since. I guess you can say motorcycle riding replaced my seasonal snowboarding addiction to a full year round riding addiction!

Where is your favorite place to ride?
Palomar Canyon, San Diego County.

What would you tell women who are thinking about getting on a motorcycle?
It's one of those things where you give it a try, and if it's for you, you will immediately fall in love with it, with no hesitations.

Do you think some people don't understand motorcycle riders?
Yes. It's unfortunate there is a stereotype that motorcycle riders are obnoxious, loud and rude on the road. My reasoning for a loud exhaust is for our safety. We intend to be heard so you don't hit us! As for the aggressive gear we wear, it's our only protection against the gnarly asphalt that can easily peel off our skin. This is why I always ride with full protection.

In life, what is most important to you?
Family, friends, and the pure need to give back to the community are most important. If it were not for the love of my family and friends, my life would not be where it is today. It's important to give more than what is expected, because only with that extra mile, can someone be described as exceptional and every day of my life I strive for that extra mile. Soyumi soy drinks helps promote a healthy life style and I offer this to the community, one drink at a time!
